To Myrna and Family, We were saddened to hear about Jim and want you to know our thoughts and prayers are with you. We will always remember the good times we have had together. Bob and Marj Holliday Myrna: I remember Jim, especially for the speech he once gave in his senior year of high school. We had 24 seniors and we each had one of 24 private rooms, assigned by alphabet. I came next to Jim in the alphabet and he had room 24. He wrote the nicest speech about the person who lived next to him, about how quiet and considerate he was of those living around him. I think you had a very good man for a husband and the father of your children. Thank you for caring for him. Give my regards to the children and grandchildren. (Bob Dyer faithfully passed the word to us.) I still remember your Mom also. God bless you all. May God bless you and strengthen your spirits. Myrna We are so very sorry to hear of Jim's passing We wish we could be with you during this hard time. Our thoughs and prays are with you and your family. Virginia & Mo Virgil & Barbara We Guthrie kids have so many fond memories of Jim when we were young. He was larger than life to us then, and will always remain so in our memory. With his commitment to his family and his God, his was a life well lived. November 27,2009 Dear Myrna, I hardly know where to start. We are so saddened by Jims passing. Our lives were so enmeshed for so many years. Its just hard to imagine him gone, and of course we sympathize with the pain you are having. As you know, Jim was best man at our wedding, but we were so close for years before that and for many after that. I just had no idea that things were getting so bad because I regularly received emails from him and sent some to him. But apparently, thats the way he wanted it, and I certainly respect that. Jim has been so much a part of my life that I can hardly imagine it without him. Of course we have been physically separated for a few years, but I always knew that he and you were there and we communicated by email, even up until the last few days. He was always a part of our Burton Place Gang. Im sure you remember: Bill Haynes, Denny Goodenow, Gary Iddings, Bob Holliday, Jim, and me. A closer bunch, there never was. I have so many memories. I remember a Christmas season when we had a party at our house that we rented for $75/mo. on Fulton Ave. We had refinished our basement and thats where we partied. My mother had sent a candle with a decoration around it and we had it lit downstairs on top of the wooden TV case. Of course, the candle burned down and the TV case caught on fire. Someone noticed the smoke coming up from the basement and we all rushed down. We carried the burning TV up from the basement and threw it outside into the snow. And then continued to party. Those were the days. And then I remember the picture that we all painted. Each of us painted a section. We would go out and leave the one whose turn it was to paint his section with a case of beer and the assignment to paint his section. We agreed that the last one to get married would keep the picture. But I was the first one to get married and I was the only one to have a place to store it. So I got it by default. I still have it hanging on the wall. As you know we had a reunion of the Burton Place Gang about 3 years ago and it was a blast. It was as if we had never been apart. I wish you and Jim had been able to come but you had a family gathering that you had committed for on the Jersey coast. And of course, family takes first place. But I wish you and Jim had been able to make it. We all missed you and saluted you with a beer. I would give anything if we could be there with you at this time but Sylvias physical condition doesnt permit it and she cant be left alone for that long. I would just like to give you a big hug like always and maybe reminisce a little. Please know that we are with you in spirit and of course you have your family there, which is the most important. Give our best to all of them as they all were in our lives over the years. We have pictures to document it. If ever you or they want copies, please let me know. Well, Ive gone on way too long. They probably wont accept this in the funeral home comments. If not, Ill mail it to you. I wanted to call you last night but figured it wasnt a good time. Love you, Tim and Sylvia Tom and family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. From your co-workers at the Fruitland, ON plant. Denny & Kathy Goodenow Tom & Family, From the Greif Oakville team, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Myrna, I was saddened to read the news about Jim in the newspaper. You probably won't remember me, but I worked with Jim years ago in the Personnel Dept. at (then) Harrison Radiator. Jim was the training director and I was in the benefit department and eventually worked for the Director of Personel. My name then was Theresa Moran. My fondest memories of Jim were that he had such a positive attitude - no matter what. He walked into the room and when asked "How are you today?" his response was ALWAYS - "I couldn't be better!" He truly was a joy to be around and a wonderful person to have as a co-worker. My sincere condolences go out to you and your family. Theresa (Moran) Brandt i am truely sorry to hear about the passing away of jim.i have known jim since 1958 at general motors institute and worked with him at frigidaire, delco air, and delphi-harrison thermal systems in moraine, ohio.jim was a good person and loved his family very much.jim will be missed by all.
