My dad often kept to himself, preferring solitude over socializing. Because it was not his habit to talk about himself, those who knew him in the latter part of his life may not know the habits of ambitions of his younger years...
Mark ran track in high school and collage, and was an avid musician since he was a teen. While attending Roberts Wesleyan College, he played in bands with friends while earning his Bachelor of Arts degree .
As an adult, he played regular gigs as part of a popular local band and even recorded two-sided single: "Killer Bee" on Side A & "Last Call for Love" on Side B.
His ministry as a worship drummer at Calvary Baptist Church was the final chapter of a lifelong love of playing music.
Mark also loved nature and gardening. As a young father, he took his family on picnics in the countryside, and you could always find him tilling and planting in the spring.
Mark was a member of the UAW (United Auto Workers), and served as a delegate, representing the local chapter on visits to the State legislature in Albany.
His vast book collection is a tribute to his lifelong love of learning, history, and politics. He always questioned authority and encouraged others to challenge conventional wisdom. Those who knew him well will miss his unruly spirit and wry humor.

Cindy, my thoughts and prayers go out to you during this time of Mark's homegoing. I wish I could be there in person, but know I am thinking about you and the family. Thank goodness for the Body of Christ that transcends all distances. We go way back many years to the time we all went to the Alliance church on Davison Rd. There are many fond memories over the years.
Absent from the body, present with the Lord.
