Obituary of James Fleming, Sr.

James Fleming, Sr. “Bebop” of Lockport, NY, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in Buffalo General Hospital. Born on February 3, 1936, in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late James and Jane (Gracie) Fleming. After high school, he volunteered for Selective Service and served in the U.S. Army from 1954 – 1956. In 1960, he married the former Katrina (Kay) Rafajac and enrolled in Niagara University, graduating in 1963 with a business management degree. Jim worked in sales and marketing for local companies. Jim had a great sense of humor and loved sports. He was a fan of the Buffalo Bills, Yankees, UB Bulls and March Madness.
Predeceased by his wife, Kay, he was the devoted father of Deborah Mullen, James Jr., and John (Sara) Fleming; grandfather of Kayla, Mark, Nicole, Lily, Grayson and Samantha and great-grandfather of Hayden McCann.
Friends may call on Monday, Nov. 7th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave., Lockport. Graveside services will be on Tuesday at 11 AM in Cold Springs Cemetery. Please assemble at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be offered to the family at langefuneralhomeinc.com.
