Obituary of Everett F. Scheer

SCHEER, Everett F. passed away on Friday, May 15, 2009 in Millard Fillmore Gates Circle, Buffalo, NY. Born on October 3, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Otto and Mary Nast Scheer. Everett served in the US Army as a medical sergeant during World War II. He worked at Flintkote for thirty years and Diversified Manufacturing for ten years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon, an usher and the President of the Couples Club and was also a member of the Industrial Management Club. He played baseball on three teams including Flintkote, Lock City Grill and Schiavitti Market. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Vera Carlson whom he married in February, 1944, his children, David W. (Laura) Scheer of Spencerport, NY and Cynthia (Jack) Landrigan of Lockport, five grandchildren, Michael and Cara Scheer and Christopher, Elisha and Renee Landrigan and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister and two brothers. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Cold Spring Cemetery.
