Sherrick, John A., a long time Lockport resident, passed away on January 25, 2009, just ten days after celebrating his 95th birthday. Born to Herschel and Ethel Pletcher Sherrick on January 15, 1914, he married his wife of 67 years, Verna A. Palmreuter, on October 1, 1937. He worked at Corson Manufacturing Co. for 40 years, and was a city resident on Hyde Park for 63 years. He had been living with his son, William, in Florida for the past 14 months. In addition to his wife, John is predeceased by his sister, Dorothy McDonnell. He is survived by his sons, John D. Sherrick of Henrietta, NY and William A (Marilyn) Sherrick of Sun City Center, FL, his sister JoAnn McCarthy of Hornell, NY, grandchildren Otto and Karen Sherrick Of Chicago, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
