I've been missing you and thinking of you so much. I knew you'd laugh at the "Bro" comment.
Love you
Till then......

I think I have to agree with my brother, Jeremy. Grandpa was known for his hugs and you couldn’t escape them, either! He’d find you and make sure you got one no matter what. It was a hug so tight, he’d squeeze the air right out of you for a second and you felt his love. When he’d hug you goodbye, he’d say, “Love ya!” I think I’ll always picture Grandpa standing behind the grill. At every family get together, he’d be the one doing the cooking. Right there in his driveway while all the kids swam in the pool. We used to have such fun at our summer family get togethers! We used to have cousin sleep overs and every morning, Grandpa would wake up early and run to the Jubilee around the corner and bring home donuts and orange juice so we could wake up to something special. He wasn’t a man of many words but you knew he loved you. He was the guy behind the scenes giving you a couple dollars so you could buy Teen Beat magazines from the corner store, taking you to Jubilee to grab one of your traditional sleep over Gobstoppers that was the size of a tennis ball or let you and your cousins walk to Alethea’s chocolates to get an ice cream sundae all by ourselves as long as we didn’t tell our parents. Grandpa was fun and laid back and we’ll all miss him dearly. He took care of everyone and loved my Grandma very much. I suppose the thing that makes this a little easier is that we all knew he loved us. As my Grandma told me earlier, Grandpa is dancing on streets of gold today!! Rest In Peace. I love you.

Patti, Sherry, Scott, Rick - So sorry for your loss. No words can wash away the pain of your loss. Your faith will help with the healing. Some say time heals. For some it may, but for many it does not. Many things trigger memories. Thought's and prayer's are with you.

I remember spending summers up here from Ohio. Grandma and Grandpa would spoil us rotten. Playing license plate games in his caddy after we were picked up at Bob Evans somewhere off the I-90 and stopping under the on ramp when it would rain so hard he wouldn’t drive in it, lol.
Swimming in the humongous pool they had was great! These were some of my favorite summers growing up and it was always fun going to Tops for candy runs, or playing games on their computers or for some reason that sandwich making machine. I don’t know why but I always remember those cheesy sandwiches lol.
A man is judged by how he treats his family. Grampa always took care of his family. He will be missed, is loved and I for one will miss his big “manly” hugs. I don’t think anyone I ever hug, hugs like that... a real man with a real heart.
I will proudly carry on the Pettit name and make sure to spread those manly hugs!
Goodbye, I love you!
<3 Jeremy

To share a memory is impossible. To share them all is also. But one of my fondest started back when I was a young girl. It was about the ugly gray sweater that my mom had bought for me. It was so funny when she asked him how he liked it he said he agreed that it was ugly. I knew then that he would be the brother I never had.
Some years later he came over to kill a big spider in my apartment that I couldn't reach. Later I found out he hated spiders too.
Love you & will miss you bro.
