It is with great sadness that I have to write something on my own mothers obituary. I never imagined this day would come but here we are. Momma Bailey, Grandma Bailey, Hootie, Maud, Donna, Aunt Donna....whatever you called her....she was the most caring, selfless person that walked amongst us. Old school at heart (MAGA) with a techie side to her (think iPhone or Windows 10) this woman was capable of anything. She raised my brother and I with the help of our amazing grandparents, Lloyd and Joyce, instilling the values that make a person respect, appreciate and value this life that can be so fragile at times. Mom never missed an opportunity to do something she wanted to do but not for her....she did it for others. Her time spent vacationing, at Darian Lake, camping, crafting and sewing along with her strong faith following God always had an intent to make someone have a nicer, brighter day. She worked hard to maintain normalcy even in the toughest times. A tuna sub from Sunny's, an iced tea from Mcdumpsters or Timmies, even some delicious crab legs were among her favorites. Speaking of, her potato salad is pretty much the coveted salad to have at any family gathering. Craft shows. I almost forgot craft shows and craft stores. Jesse and I were punished by Joanne Fabrics for years but I still wouldn't trade it for anything. This woman left her mark with anyone she came in contact with, whether it was in person or answering phone calls and will be greatly missed. Claire and Madelyn were fortunate enough to spend a lot of time with Grandma and will always remember that time and all the important life lessons offered up(threading a sewing machine, making mac n cheese, planting tomatoes in the green boxes, driveway races on any one of the many "toys" Grandma had). She is dancing with her sisters and hugging her mom and dad and for that I am happy. May this angel look over us and bless us forever. I love you mom, Scootie.
