Obituary of Concetta Newton
Concetta “Min” Newton age 102 of Lockport, NY passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 in Elderwood of Lockport surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 13, 1916 in Lockport, she was the daughter of Gesidio and Rosina Ascenzo Police. Formerly, Min was on the Altar & Rosary Society of St. Anthony’s, Parish Life Committee at All Saints Parish, President of the Garden Club, member of the Red Hat Society, Hospital Guild and a Dale Association “Bag Lady”. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed painting china, making dolls, knitting and crocheting.
Predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Newton, Sr., her son, Robert A. Newton, Jr. and siblings, Joseph Police, Mary Antonio, Anthony Police and Amelia “Mickey” Scirati. Min is survived by her children, Mary Ann (late Thomas) Conlin, Carol Newton and William J. (Mary Ann) Newton; daughter in law, Betty Newton; grandchildren, Lori (Dan) Zugelder, Krista Newton Kerrissey, James (Heather) Newton, Kellie (Mark) Johnson, Molly (Pat) McAleer, Amy (Mike) Hall, Marc (Eileen) Pecoraro, Michele Pecoraro, Lisa (Christopher) Pecoraro-Ware, Christopher (Rebecca) Newton and Brian (Jessica) Newton; 19 great grandchildren and several nieces.
Friends may call on Thursday 4-8 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at All Saints Parish, 76 Church St. Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery.
