Obituary of Evelyn L. Atkins

Evelyn L. Atkins of Lockport, NY passed away on Friday October 19, 2018 at the age of 100 in Elderwood of Lockport. Born on July 26, 1918 in Buffalo, she was the daughter of Harold F. and Ethel Houck LaVere. She was the Head Cook at the former Philip Sheridan Elementary School in Kenmore retiring in 1968. She was a member of Lockport United Church of Christ, volunteered for Cares for Lockport knitting for newborns and preemies in need, was a former “Bag Lady” and an avid Bingo player.

Wife of the late Frederick A. Atkins, she is survived by her children, Bruce (late Diane) Atkins, Judith (late Keith) Chamberlain and Bonnie (Wayne) Ferry; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Monday from 12:00 – 3:00 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave., Lockport. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery.
