I went to college with Gary. Great guy, upstanding, funny, and caring. Enjoyed learning, music, and the daily newspaper. A great hockey player with passion and love for the game and all sports. He deeply loved his family and friends and had a deep caring for social justice. I can safely say that I, and all his friends from college, think of him and miss him often. Our continued prayers and thoughts go to to his family and girls - that he adored.
He was a good one! Miss you "Garwood" - you were a good buddy and inspired many. Matthew

My condolences to the dear Creasey family on the loss of your son and brother, Gary. Although I haven't seen him in many years, I considered him an outgoing, funny and very personable guy. My first memory of him was in Carrboro, NC. And, of course, his lovely wedding weekend in Wilmington, NC to Shelly. I think I caught the bouquet. I was too young to appreciate it at the time. :)
Cherish your memories of him and keep his spirit alive always.
Rest in Peace, Gary.

My father informed me of Gary’s passing last month. I was deeply saddened by the news and my thoughts went out to you. The most noted memory I have of Gary was playing hockey together in the late 60’s – early 70’s.
The team name was “Tony’s Bantams” in the Bantam league at the Kenan Center. Dr. Al Connette was our coach with his sons Rich and Mike on the team among others.
Nevertheless, we extend our utmost and sincere condolences to you and the family. Cherish the memories, and that you were fortunate enough to experience the good time you did have with him.
Take solace in knowing that Gary lived an active life. However, he's at peace, and in a much better place now, and we'll all be seeing him again...
Sincerely,
Donnie & family

I remember all the times we played hockey in the street in front of your house in the winter time, and basketball in your driveway in the summer. Good memories of a great childhood friend. Rest in peace, Gary.

Dear Ida, Lynnette, April, and Jon,
I am sorry for your loss. I know how tough it has been as we have struggled with losing the real Gary we knew and loved years ago. My trust is that he went to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and finally found freedom as we know God's grace is amazing. My heart is in prayer for his children and their mother as well. I truly loved Gary as a special "brother " and remember fondly every minute with your family. Way back in 1971 at Gary's soccer game at LSHS, I met your dad (husband) and mom (you, Ida) who as you know were very instrumental in much of my spiritual growth and fellowship. I love all of you dearly and you are in my prayers.
