John A. Angelo Angelo, John A. of Lockport, NY passed away on Friday January 2, 2015 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born on April 23, 1925 in Lockport, he was the son of Leonardo and Francis Renna Angelo. Mr. Angelo served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He arrived on the Shores of Normandy on D Day plus 2 and received several metals for his meratious service. He married his wife, the former Marie DiNicolantonio on June 29, 1946. Mr. Angelo was a bricklayer by trade and worked at the Iroquois Job Center teaching many young people his trade. He retired in 1988. He was a member of St. Anthony’s, St. Joseph’s and now All Saints Parish, founding member of the AnJo Club and Business Agent for Niagara County Bricklayers Union. Mr. Angelo was an avid sports fan especially of the Bills, Yankees and Notre Dame and was active in many sports, including YMCA basketball, fast pitch softball, bowling and golf. Surviving are his beloved wife of 68 years, Marie DiNicolantonio Angelo; four children, John L. (Madeline) Angelo, Theresa (Don) Martineck, Michael (Nancy) Angelo and Mary Ann (Jeff) Gebauer; 9 grandchildren, John Paul Angelo, Kevin, Tom and Paul Kirchberger, Dan Singer, Amber (A.J.) Bobinski, and Angela, Michael and Joseph Gebauer; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport, NY. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc.
