Robert W. Wallace of Lockport, NY, passed away on Thursday December 4, 2014 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born July 23, 1924 in Erie, PA, he was the son of Charles and Mildred Hubbell Wallace. Bob served as a radio man second class in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He has been married 64 years to his lovely wife Barbara (Giddings) Wallace. Bob founded the Speech and Hearing Clinic at Mt. View Hospital in Niagara County. He was also employed by the Lockport School District as a Speech and Hearing therapist for decades. Upon retirement, Bob continued to home teach students up until the age of 88. He was a Life Member and Past Potentate of the Ismailia Shriners, a Grand Master of the Lockport Masonic Lodge and very active in his church. Bob enjoyed coin collecting, catalog shopping, and feeding the birds and squirrels.
Besides his wife Barbara, Bob is survived by his older brother Charles (Mary) Wallace of Hamburg; five children, Robert (Cheryl) Wallace, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Deborah (Paul) Campbell of Fort Myers, FL; Braden (Carol) Wallace of Blythwood, SC; Douglas (Gail) Wallace of Lockport and Stephen (Arlene) Wallace of Wilson. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
There will be no prior visitation. A mass celebrating Bob’s life will be held on Wednesday December 17th at 11:00 am at Christ Episcopal Church, Rochester Road, Lockport, NY with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive Lockport, NY 14094 or to Christ Episcopal Church, Rochester Rd. and Fieldcrest Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.
