Obituary of Muriel E. Payne

Muriel E. Payne Payne, Muriel E. of Lockport passed away on Tuesday August 29, 2006 at home. Born on October 2, 1920 in Hamilton, Ontario, she was the daughter of James W. and Mabel Beamsley Stephenson. She was a graduate of Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing and served as a Registered Nurse during WWII.. She worked for Niagara County at Mt. View Health Facility for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the American Legion, and Grace Episcopal Church where she was on the Altar Guild and volunteered at the Thrift Shop. She enjoyed bowling, knitting and crocheting and was a former member of the Roadrunners Travel Club. Predeceased by her husband, Lawrence D. Payne, on August 11, 1982, she is survived by her children, Sharon (Brian) Smith of Lockport, William (Joyce Marie) Payne of LA, Gary (Star) Payne of Lockport and Charlotte (Richard) Craig of Lockport, 12 grandchildren, Christopher (Robin), Jeffrey, Kimberly, Ryan, Andrew, Matthew, Ann Marie, Mary, Sara, Zachary, Ashley and Kyle, one great granddaughter, Emily and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM from Grace Episcopal Church, 100 Genesee St. In lieu of flowers, memorials may Be made to the church or Niagara Hospice, Inc.
