Obituary of Marion L. Schultz

Schultz, Marion L. of Lockport passed away on Friday August 18, 2006 in Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility. Born on May 12, 1910 in the Town of Cambria, she was the daughter of Edward E. and Mary Miller Schultz. After graduating from Lockport High School, she went to Wilson Teachers Training and began her teaching career at the age of 18 working in the same one-room schoolhouse that she attended. She worked at various one-room schoolhouses throughout Niagara County until she was hired by Starpoint when it centralized. While teaching she earned her Bachelors Degree from Buffalo State Teachers College (in 1951) and then her Masters Degree about 5 years later. She taught 4th grade throughout her entire career at Starpoint. She retired from her distinguished career at Starpoint in 1970. She was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ in East Amherst and traveled after her retirement. Several cousins survive Marion. A graveside service will be held on Friday at North Ridge Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Memorials may be made to St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ. Arrangements by Lange Funeral Home, Inc.
