Obituary of Thomas J. Mulvey

Mulvey, Thomas J. Whip of Lockport, NY, passed away on Wednesday March 7, 2013 in Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility. Born on February 12, 1922 in Lockport, he was the son of Thomas and Rose Degnan Mulvey. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and married Lois Ruberto Mulvey in 1944. He retired as a Supervisor from Harrison Radiator in 1980 after 38 years, was a Niagara County Legislator for 8 terms and was one of the original founders of Little League. He was a life member of St. Patricks R.C. Church, G-9 Club, V.F.W., D.A.V, the Elks, Ancient Order of Hibernians and Midget League Board of Directors. Mr. Mulvey enjoyed golfing and bowling. Surviving is his wife, Lois Ruberto Mulvey; two sons, Thomas (Virginia) Mulvey, Jr. of Lockport and Kevin (Mary Ellen) Mulvey of Kenmore; five grandchildren, Kristine (Craig) Towlsen of Germany, Brian Mulvey of GA, Bridget Mulvey of OH, Siobhan Mulvey and Colleen Mulvey of CA; four great grandchildren, Brendan, Devin, Caden and Ashlyn; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Wertz and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Marc Patrick Mulvey and siblings, Harold, Audrey Costello and Joanne Pokrzywka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 11:00 AM from All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport, NY. Interment in St. Patricks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woman & Childrens Hospital of Buffalo, 219 Bryant St., Buffalo, NY 14222. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.langefuneralhomeinc.com.
