Obituary of Ronald N. Bower

Bower, Ronald N. of Lockport, NY, passed away on Saturday January 26, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House. Born on March 1, 1939 in Lockport, he was the son of Norman and Vivian Rutter Bower. He served in Army Reserves from 1959 until 1965 and married the former Joan Foster on April 24, 1965. He worked for NYSEG, Western Block, Bower Builders (building new homes and remodeling) and lastly was Building Superintendent and Property Manager for The Sample. Ronald spent many years caring for the American Legion/Masonic garden on the corner of Transit and Summit, was a Boy Scout and very active with the Masons as District Deputy Grand Master, Master of Lockport Lodge 73, Secretary of Lockport Lodge 73, member of Charlotteville Lodge 73, member of Niagara Lodge 375, member of Seymour 277, Canada,’79 Masters Group, Managing Editor of The Empire State Mason magazine, Editor of the Niagara Orleans Masonic News for nearly 20 years and recipient of DeMolay Legion of Honor. He is survived by his wife, Joan C. Foster Bower; four daughters, Elizabeth (William) Guminski, Maureen Chambers, Heather (Paul) Roncone and Erin (Peter) Reibel; five grandchildren, Sean Chambers, Christopher Roncone, Victor and Katherine Guminski and Vivian Reibel; two brothers, Brian (Charlene) and David (Karen); sister-in-law, Audrey Bower; mother-in-law, Louise Wayner Foster and several nieces and nephews. Ronald was predeceased by his brothers, Gerald and Paul. Friends may call on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave, Lockport, NY where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Interment in Glenwood Cemetery.
