Obituary of Russell C. Dunlap

Dunlap, Russell C. of Lockport, NY passed away on Friday January 18, 2013 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born on June 28, 1942 in Buffalo, he was the son of Charles R. and Estelle Heerdt Dunlap. Russell graduated from Indiana Institute of Technology with a degree in aeronautical engineering. He worked for Taylor Devices for 16 years where he was chief engineer, Harrison Radiator in the solar division, with the Saturn program and then AC. After retiring from Delphi Thermal Systems he was an engineering consultant. ussell was a member of SAE International (Society of Automotive Engineers) and the Niagara County Historical Society. He spent summers at the family cottage on Lake Ontario where he taught his children how to enjoy water sports. He loved to solve problems. Russell was the loving husband of Melissa Carter Dunlap, whom he married on June, 21, 1974; he was the loving father of Charles (Kristin) Dunlap of Lockport, Matthew (Courtney) Dunlap of GA, Scott (Chelsea) Dunlap and Drew (Nicole) Dunlap both of Lockport; grandfather of Brett Dunlap, Michael Sweat and Kenadi Dunlap and brother-in-law of Cindy (Otto) Kuehne and Lt. General William G. (Linda) Carter, III, retired. Also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 26, 2013 at 10:30 AM from Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 75 East Ave., Lockport, NY.
