Obituary of Betty Lange Cole

Cole, Betty Lange, wife of the late C. Daniel Cole, passed away October 3, 2012 in Fairfax, Virginia. Born in Lockport on March 18, 1928, she was he daughter of Rev. Ivan and Elva Weber Lange. Betty and Dan Cole raised their four children in Chelmsford, MA, while Dan was a professor of physics at the former Lowell Tech now the University of Massachusetts/Lowell campus until his death in 1985. Betty was active in the Open Gate Garden Club, co-founder of the Busy Bees Junior Garden Club, and a member of the Herb group. She was a preschool teacher by profession with a degree in Early Childhood Development from the University of Buffalo (1951) and taught for many years. Her proudest accomplishment was in nurturing her close family. Betty is survived by her four children: Catherine Cole (Peter Lynch) of Springfield, VA, Cynthia Cole Fulton of Damascus, MD, Robert Cole (Katherine Wilson) of Baltimore, MD, and Kenneth Cole (Ann) of Amesbury, MA; ten grandchildren Meghan Saliba (Joshua), Katharine Lynch (Bryan DeAngelis), Keri Fulton, Rebecca Lynch, Krista Fulton, Maria Cole, William Cole, Eli Cole, Owen Cole, and Luka Cole; two great-grandchildren Jackson Saliba and Timothy DeAngelis; two sisters-in- law, Carolyn Lange ( late Mark) and Katherine Lange (late John) both of Lockport and thirteen nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Friday 7-9 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM from the church built by her father, First English Lutheran Church, 185 Locust St., Lockport, NY. Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery.
