Obituary of Gladys I. Sabatine

Gladys I. Sabatine Sabatine, Gladys I. of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Pinellas Park, FL passed away on Friday March 4, 2011. Born on October 26, 1920 in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of John and Mary Carey Costello. She and her late husband, Anthony C. Sabatine lived in Niagara Falls, NY and upon retirement moved to Florida. Mr. Sabatine passed away in 1987. In Pinellas Park, Mrs. Sabatine was a member of Holy Cross Church and involved with their Women’s Club, Social Club, rummage sales and was team Captain of Sunday coffee and doughnut service. She also volunteered for the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed reading murder mysteries, crossword puzzles and loved to play cards and games. In 2009, she moved to Arizona to be with her daughter and resided at Legacy Retirement Residence where she participated in daily exercise classes, bingo and word games. Mrs. Sabatine was predeceased by her husband, Anthony C. Sabatine, her daughter, Cheryl Eileen Sabatine,three sisters, Mary (late Ken) Leighton, Frances (late Clifford) Sparrer and Gertrude Costello, one nephew, John William (Emily) McCarthy and one niece, Lillian Corwin. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (late Robert) Muscarella of AZ, her grandson Robert (Karen) Muscarella, Jr. of Lockport, two nieces, Dorothy (Attley) Matthews and Marjorie (Carl) Allan, one nephew, Clifford (Dianne) Sparrer and 13 grand nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday 4:00-7:30 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc. 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10:00 AM from All Saints Parish of St. Patrick’s Church, 76 Church St., Lockport, NY. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
