Dear Susan and Mrs. Holls, Diane and I were roommates at VU for three semesters and we felt like sisters...more than just sorority sisters. I always admired her determination, organization, and "can do" attitude. She was a good friend for all these years. I'm so happy we were able to re-connect recently. Although our lives had been separated by many miles and years, we took up where we left off as if no time at all had passed. She will be missed by all who knew her. Our deepest sympathy to your family. Diane and Paul Mueller What sad news. Although I haven't seen Diane in many years, I remember her well from LHS, Trinity Lutheran Church and Valparaiso University. Special memories of Diane that are revisited from our loss. My sincere sympathy to her family. We are so sorry to learn of Diane's passing. We enjoyed her friendship and the many good times we had together. May God comfort her family and friends in this time of sorrow. Norm and Marcia Steblein and family Dear Susan, I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. What a beautiful lady she was. I'm sure you will keep all of your fond memories in your heart and keep her spirit alive through the love of you and your children. Please give your grandmother my deapest sympathy as well. Please take care of yourself and may god bless all of you in this time of need. love, Tonya D'Auria Neumann Dear family, On behalf of the Lockport Junior Service League I would like to express our sincere and heartfelt sympathy in your time of sorrow. As a past Lockport Junior Service League President, Diane will always be remembered as a true community leader. Sincerely, Kelsey Comstock, President Lockport Junior Service League Rob- to you and your family my deepest sympathy for the loss of your sister To Mrs. Hannigan's family, my deepest sympathy. I found out last night and was absolutely devastated. I had Mrs. Hannigan as my fourth grade teacher in 1991-1992. She is the reason I have purple glasses now! My best friend and I would always volunteer to help with grading or something so we could stay behind and she would let us wear her purple glasses. She was a wonderful teacher and friend and I know touched many students' lives. Even when I would go back to visit, she was always ready with a strong hug and wonderful smile...and of course, the purple glasses. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful person with us for so long! My deepest condolences and warmest regards, ~Sarah Heximer Dear, Susan, Rob, and Mrs. Holls, I am a friend and sorority sister of Diane's from Valparaiso University and have wonderful memories of years spent with her and a special visit to Lockport at Thanksgiving over 40 years ago. May God's peace bless and comfort you at Diane's passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Susan I'm a 2nd-cousin of your mom Diane. I was surprised and saddened to learn of her death. A Buffalo-relative of my sister-in-law sent the newspaper obituary notice. I really remember meeting your mom only once, at the wedding of another 2nd-cousin Christine on June 11,1972. My brother Joel had been married the day before in Wilson,NY, so it was a busy weekend for seeing and greeting family relatives. But happy memories of all these folks, including your family, still come back to me from that day. Back then I had just completed the Holls Family book, which includes your dad, mom and you. You may have seen it at your grandparents, who I know had a copy. ----- I never met your father Roger, but I knew of his early death in service in Vietnam. I was in USAF service at the time (US location). Because of that, I've always remembered him (and your mom) when wartime memories return to me. In case you haven't seen it, there is a website for the names on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington,DC. I added another memoriam entry for your father just last month, with material I had been able to locate recently. The website is: http://www.vvmf.org/ Entries for each serviceman are displayable by the following steps: 1) Click on "The Virtual Wall" near top of first/home webpage. 2) Then fill in the field "Last name, First name" with: Anderson,Roger (and click Search). 3) The entry labelled Montevideo,MN is for your father. 4) Individual memoriam entries can be then displayed. The entry by your aunt Karen has the only photo I have seen of your father. ----- I hope you and your family are comforted in the confidence of both Diane's and Roger's faith in their Savior and the promises of God's care until we rejoin them. Timothy Holls -- timholls@aol.com 5 Wendy Road, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 Dear Susan and family, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear mother. Diane and I were sorority sisters at VU and we have managed to keep up since graduation. In fact I had the pleasure to share a lovely weekend on the beach with her in the fall of 2007. I will keep all of you in my prayers as you adjust to your life without her. We are so blessed to have the "Peace that passes understanding," because we know that Jesus has a splendid new home in Heaven for Diane, and all of us who love Him. God's blessings, Janis Fehlig ;
