Dr. Robert L. Downes Downes, Dr. Robert L. formerly of Lockport, NY, passed away on October 8, 2010 in Winterhaven, FL, after a long illness. Born on March 19, 1914 in Lockport, NY, he was the son of Chester and Olive Downes. Former local orthodontist and member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, he was a member of the American Dental Association and enjoyed golf, gardening and bridge. He was predeceased by his wives, Audrey (Buffin) and Isabelle (Poole), one brother, Gordon (Ruth) Downes and one sister, Marion (John) Goodrich. He is survived by his sons, Douglas Buffin Downes (Bonnie) and Jack Buffin Downes (Terri), five grandchildren, Amy and Andrew Downes; and Jonathan, Justin and Alicia Downes, two nieces and one nephew.
