My name is Ellen Ruhlmann. I am sorry for the loss of your Aunt. She was friendly and kind and I always enjoyed taking with her during my years at Lockport High May she rest in peace. Miss Kelkenberg gave me my first real job as a high school student, doing her yard work. She loved flowers and had a beautiful garden, and taught me much about plants. More importantly, she treated me like a grown-up and talked about interesting things -- books, politics, current affairs, music. She taught me what it means to be an educated person and was my role model in deciding to become a librarian myself. Her warmth, humor, kindness, and wisdom helped shape my early life and as an adult I treasured her continuing friendship, though I left WNY more than 20 years ago. She was an irreplaceable person and I will miss her. ;
